Our Slack app adds the @Empirical bot to your Slack workspace. This bot shares test reports in the channel, and tagging the bot will start agent sessions.

Installation

  1. Open Settings > Reporters for your project
  2. Click Install on the Slack integration to start the OAuth flow

Add a channel

After installation, mention @Empirical in any Slack channel you want to use. Slack will prompt you to add the bot to the channel if needed. The first mention registers the channel for your Empirical organization and starts an agent session. If your organization has more than one project, start the message with the project slug in square brackets:
With one active project, mentioning @Empirical is enough—no project slug is required. View registered channels under Settings > Slack channels.

Configure test run notifications

Registering a channel does not automatically enable test run notifications. Open Settings > Environments, edit an environment’s Slack Notifications, and select the registered channels that should receive its run updates. Repeat this for each environment that should send notifications. Removing a channel from an environment stops that environment’s notifications without disconnecting the channel from the organization.

Permissions

The Slack app can send and read messages only in channels where the bot has been added. Specifically, it requests for these permission scopes:
